Fractional Laser Resurfacing

in Baltimore, MD

Dr. Papel, Dr. Kontis, and Dr. Brown use eCO2 Plus Fractional resurfacing to help rejuvenate the skin of patients in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Annapolis and the surrounding areas of Maryland.

What is eCO2™ Plus Fractional Laser Resurfacing?

eCO2™ Plus Laser Resurfacing is a method of rejuvenating the skin using a fractional CO2 laser. CO2 lasers gently resurface the outer layers of skin to reduce signs of aging and provide a brighter complexion. They also increase blood flow to superficial layers of the skin and stimulate new collagen formation. The result is younger looking skin and reduced imperfections, such as less apparent scars, reduced pore size, and fewer brown spots.

Benefits of Fractional Laser Resurfacing

Some of the benefits you can enjoy with a laser resurfacing treatment include:

  • Safe, in-office procedure that takes around 30 minutes to an hour
  • Effective on a number of skin conditions
  • Many patients can achieve their desired results after only one to two sessions, avoiding the need for an extended series of treatments

Who is a Good Candidate for Fractional Laser Resurfacing?

Since eCO2™ Plus Fractional Laser Resurfacing sessions are shorter and fewer treatments are generally needed, this procedure is ideal for anyone with a busy lifestyle. Many of our patients also choose eCO2™ Plus over other “lunch hour” procedures because it provides results quickly, making it ideal for anyone who wishes to improve their appearance for an important event, such as a high school reunion.

How is eCO2™ Plus Laser Treatment Performed?

After carefully cleansing your skin, topical anesthesia will then be applied to numb the area. In some cases, more extensive anesthesia may be recommended. Next, Dr. Papel, Dr. Kontis, or Dr. Brown will treat the recommended areas with the eCO2™ Plus laser. Once the procedure is over, we will apply a light moisturizer to your skin. A bandage may also be used if our doctor has covered a very large treatment area.

Results of eCO2™ Plus

There will be some swelling, scabbing and oozing immediately after the procedure, which can last for approximately 1-2 days. This will be followed by some residual redness of the skin that can persist for several weeks as your skin produces more collagen. These areas can be easily disguised with make-up. Our aestheticians will follow you closely during this period and assist you with the management of the affected areas.
