Radiesse®
in Baltimore, MD
Dr. Papel, Dr. Kontis, and Dr. Brown provide Radiesse injections for patients in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Annapolis and the surrounding areas of Maryland who are experiencing both wrinkles and a loss in facial volume.
What is Radiesse®?
One of the bestselling dermal fillers, Radiesse® helps patients address fine lines and wrinkles to plump their skin and fill in troubled areas. Radiesse® may also be used to provide more extensive facial volume for those people who are experiencing a loss in fullness due to aging or overexposure to the sun’s rays. It can also be effectively used to treat sagging cheeks, a weak chin or jaw, and nasolabial folds. Radiesse® is also a great option to treat aging of the hands. Radiesse® is a dermal filler composed of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) suspended in clear gel. It is popular for its instant results, as well as its ability to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production, leading to more improvements with repeated injections over time.
Benefits of Radiesse®
There are a lot of benefits that attract patients to Radiesse®. In addition to improving folds and wrinkles, it can also stimulate your skin’s collagen production. Increased collagen production brings back the volume your skin lost with age.
It also helps to make you look more refreshed, in addition to:
- Minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
- Getting rid of dark circles under the eyes
- Making your eyes appear uplifted
- Minimizing the appearance of crow’s feet
- Smoothing outlines around your lips
- Giving your face a youthful, uplifted appearance by restoring facial volume
Who is a Good Candidate for Radiesse®?
Radiesse® injections may be right for you if you have lost facial volume because of weight loss or age, but also for those individuals who have folds around their eyes or mouth. Radiesse® can give you the vibrant, youthful appearance you had when you were younger. This treatment option with Dr. Papel, Dr. Kontis, or Dr. Brown is a great way for a person to not only improve his or her appearance but also avoid undergoing surgery.
How is Radiesse® Treatment Performed?
The first step will be having your skin cleansed by Dr. Papel, Dr. Kontis, or Dr. Brown using an antiseptic solution. An extremely fine needle will then be used to inject Radiesse® just below your skin’s surface in the targeted areas where there are wrinkles or folds. The gel injected underneath the skin has lidocaine in it. This serves to numb the area being treated, addressing any discomfort you might have during or after the procedure.
Once Radiesse® is injected into the skin, it begins to work by providing support to the tissues underneath the treated area. This causes them to be lifted up and no longer sag. Radiesse® can be injected in multiple places on your face or hands, depending on your desired results. Once the procedure is completed, we will give you a mirror so that you can see the results for yourself. Most patients are surprised to see the positive results that they receive immediately from Radiesse® treatments. It will not only enhance your appearance, but it will also improve the way you feel about yourself.
Results of Radiesse®
Individuals who receive Radiesse® injections are able to resume normal activities immediately following the procedure. There is no downtime required, however, some patients decide to take a short amount of time to fully recover after the treatment, such as a half-day off of work. You may experience some bruising or slight swelling around the area that was injected. If you are concerned about other people noticing this bruising and swelling, it may be a good idea for you to plan a little bit of time off after the procedure.
You can expect improvements from Radiesse® right away as it fills in your wrinkles and folds. Over the next several months as Radiesse® is broken down, it will be replaced by your own natural collagen, leading to lasting results over time. Your results from Radiesse® can last for about a year and can be maintained with a touch-up session.
