Restylane® Refyne
in Baltimore, MD
Our skilled Johns Hopkins trained surgeons Dr. Ira Papel, Dr. Theda Kontis, and Dr. Emile Brown offer a variety of dermal filler options such as Refyne to patients in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Annapolis and the surrounding areas of Maryland.
What is Restylane® Refyne?
Many of our Baltimore area patients are excited about the prospect of using Restylane dermal fillers to smooth their wrinkles. What they are often not enthused about is the idea of injecting artificial substances into their skin. These individuals appreciate the benefits of Refyne, a hyaluronic acid filler designed to reduce upper lip lines and superficial facial wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Refyne are explicitly formulated for dynamic areas. Refyne addresses areas like the lips, because it molds and flexes very naturally with movement, just like your own skin. Restylane fillers are completely nonsurgical, with no downtime required.
Benefits of Restylane® Refyne
Those who choose Restylane® Refyne for their treatment can enjoy these benefits:
- XpresHAn technology to soften laugh lines
- Improved lines around the nose, mouth, and chin
- Maintain a natural look but with younger-looking skin
Who is a Good Candidate for Refyne?
Refyne dermal filler treatment is an effective solution for those who experience some of the first signs of aging such as laugh lines (nasolabial folds) and marionette lines. Since Refyne contains hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in your body, it is one of the safest dermal fillers on the market. As such, nearly anyone can undergo a Refyne injection, even those who may be allergic to the ingredients in other fillers. Let our physicians know if you are taking any medications such as aspirin or blood thinners because these might increase your risk of bruising after the procedure.
How is Restylane® Refyne Treatment Performed?
First, we will identify the particular wrinkles you would like to smooth. This will help us determine the exact locations to place your injections. After preparing your syringe, Dr. Papel, Dr. Kontis, or Dr. Brown will deliver precise amounts of Refyne into the targeted areas through the injection site. The filler also contains lidocaine, so the area will be numbed as Refyne is injected. However, applying a strong topical numbing agent prior to the injection is also an option. The injection process then takes about 10-20 minutes to complete.
Results of Refyne
There is no required downtime after Refyne, but patients can expect some mild swelling, bruising, and redness that will resolve within a few days after treatment. Results of Refyne can be seen right away for smoother, younger looking skin with lines and folds filled in. The results of Refyne can last for up to 12 months before a touch-up session is needed.
