With previous laser treatments, you may have experienced pain when the laser energy touched your skin. Now, with Motus hair removal at the Aesthetic Center of Woodholme, your days of painful laser treatments are over.
Let’s take a look at what Motus hair removal is, how it works, and how it can help you achieve the smooth skin you’re looking for.
How Is the Motus Hair Removal Procedure Done?
When you come to the office for your appointment, our staff will clean the treatment area and apply a gel to protect the skin. You will also need to be prepared to wear goggles to protect your eyes from the laser. Then, your provider will place the Motus handpiece over the area, and it will deliver laser energy that destroys the hair follicle. Rather than the bursts of energy that older laser technology provided, the Motus technology will damage each hair follicle without subjecting you to pain.
The Motus also contains a cooling mechanism that ensures you feel no pain or discomfort.
If you are having a small area treated, the procedure may last approximately five minutes. If, on the other hand, you have several areas you want to treat, the process can take up to an hour. Additionally, if your hair is particularly thick, this may also lead to a longer treatment time.
After the Procedure
During the days and months after Motus hair removal treatment, you will notice your hair isn’t as thick as it used to be. To completely remove all hair from the treatment area, you’ll likely need more than one treatment session. This is necessary because all of your hairs are not in the same growth phase at the same time. Each time you undergo treatment, the Motus technology will destroy about 10% to 15% of your hair follicles.
When you leave our office, you will be able to go back to your daily routine immediately. There is no downtime whatsoever.
While the results are long-lasting, we recommend you receive Motus hair removal treatment every year to ensure your skin remains smooth and hairless.
